Myosotis is the Latin name for the forget-me-not flower. When Carol Daniel, the Trust's Director, first visited Romania she vowed she would never forget the people she met. Our logo is the Myosotis flower to ensure we never forget.

The Myosotis Trust was founded to improve the physical, spiritual and mental health of the orphaned, the old, the young, the sick and the poor of Barlad in Eastern Romania.

Our philosophy is to provide opportunity for change. We want to develop a self sufficient Romanian based charity to continue this work for the future and to enable these people to help themselves.

The Myosotis Trust was launched on the 1st June 1996 by its founder Carol Daniel.

In the previous year Carol visited Romania and met a lot of doctors who asked her to help and not to forget the country's needs on her return to England. Hence the use of the forget-me-not flower in our logo and the name of the Trust.

Carol DanielCarol spent her working life in the Health Service, taking early retirement from her job as Associate Director of Hillingdon Health Agency to dedicate her time to establishing the Trust.

Carol has made many visits to Romania and has based the Trust's activities in
Barlad, a town of 80,000 people in eastern Romania, with high unemployment and deprivation. Carol has visited most hospitals, orphanages and schools in the area.
